FOR NOTHING
I have a 700 that is making gas in the oil! It is out of warrenty with 120 hrs. MERCURY RACING has washed their hands of this problem and WILL NOT HELP. Even a letter to FRED only initiated a phone call from tech to tell me I was out of luck and to "take it to a dealer" I have had it to 3 "dealers" and they all say" I dunno". So now I have a $50,000 computer controlled motor that makes 2 qts gas in the oil in 100 miles. We have checked everything, compression, leakdown, injectors, boost bypass, IAC, fuel pump, regulator, pressure line through intake manifold. on and on. NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT FROM THE JACKASSES AT MERCURY RACING AND I AM PISSED OFF

WOW. Seems like everyone is gettin pizzed at Merc now-a-days. They need more competition to actually make them give a sh!t about their customers. 525 Headers were a big deal too........Sorry to hear this problem and good luck with a company that has the market cornered and doesnt care....

Sorry to hear that. I think kreed is right- they need more competition to force them into standing behind their product more. Especially as much as they charge!
I have a 600sci with no issues yet (knock on wood), but that would pizz me off to no end if they shut the door in my face with an issue like that. Just out of warranty or not.

Your insurance should help. That is not a normal wear and tear thing.
Call them. make a claim. get rebuild estimates. pay your deductable.
Eat the "depreciation" or whatever other bs they throw at you and get it done.
And continue to make noise about mercury.
They do know when they get bad press on these boards and they don't like it.
They may not do any more but at least your getting the word out.

+1 especially if the regulator is under the intake..It wouldn't take long for that bad regulator (leaks fuel in through the vacuum line under pressure) to fill the intake with gas..

Did the factory offer to look at it if you shipped it to them?
are you aware of any and all comunication between the 3 dealers and the factory?
How did you pay for it? May have c card company help. Things like a motor league membership may help.
Not sure how long ago you bought this engine but the main reason I chimed in here was several years ago I had an issue with an out drive where merc said tough luck but that was on the information that the dealer was giving them. Once I cleared up the confusion they sent out a new drive and all was well. The other thing that I am thinking is if I were merc I would like to get to the bottom of it in case there is a flaw somewhere in their manufacturing. Just doesnt add up to me. I would try and make another attempt to contact merc and get them to explain why they are not willing to help you especially when it could affect them.
Not sure insurance will help you unless the hatch was left open in a rain storm or something but worth a look see.
I would try running it with just a carb and see whats up. Eliminate various parts as the problem in running conditions.
I wish you the very best of luck and hope this is of some help to you.
