just wondering two things with full stringer replacment
what's the best way to support boat for replacment- on trailer or with jacks?
what's everyone using for stringer? 2x6 wood or cedar or lvl board or plywood or what?
also is it best to use one solid piece or can you piece them for length?

Most use marine plywood, some guys have used "cussa board" (not sure of the spelling) for weight savings. Thats a big job, I replaced my transom last year. My stringers were in good shape, just had to tie it all together. I did beef them up in the engine compartment, I added a layer of marine ply to each side. Now my stringers under the engine are almost 4" thick. Good Luck with the project.
