Looking to park the Duramax and get into a reasonable daily driver. I commute 100mi a day and need something comfortable with decent mileage. I'm 6'2" / 250lbs..........any suggestions?

I always appreciate my 2008 duramax after driving my car a week or so. I think every fellow should have truck and a car. Looking for economy and/ sporty? Maybe older Cadillac STS(lots room), impala, of course the option of all the new high line autos. You after just a moderate price used car?

Biggest complaint, everything feels "cheap" compared to his 745. He loves to rattle off the gas mileage though! Car was about 25K brand new.

New or used?
VW sedans
Pontiac Grand Prix 1998-2003
Buick Regal 1998-2003
...all big inside and comfy. They also get pretty good MPG. I also loved my Lexus GS300, but maintenance was expensive ($500+ for a ball joint/suspension A-arm, & $3K for AC).

I drove 132 miles a day back and fourth to work for 7 years. I would buy disposable cars. $500-$1000 vehicles that would get good gas mileage. My favorite disposable vehicle is my '96 cutlass 4 door. My Saturn and Cavalier were kinda cramped. A Grand Prix is nice but they do not get the mileage that a Cutlass, Regal or Bonneville get. I don't know why, maybe different gearing cause it is a sportier car. After adding up full coverage and car payment, it was better for me to just spend $500 for car $45/month for PLPD ins. and drive it into the ground. Funny thing is I was only stranded once in 7 years, when I drove my new truck and the fuel pump went out.

$3-3500. I'd rather stay '95 and up and I turn my own wrenches.
Looked at a decent '95 V6 Accord yesterday w/ 155k. Have seen numerous cars that will work, just can't see myself in them. Need to get the ego out of the picture and get what I need, not want.
Thanks for the input!

Aim for a 1998-2003 GM 3.8L platform with as few miles as you can get. The transmission is the weakest link, but the rest of the car runs forever.
