I am getting ready to put latham steering on my boat, this means my old drive shower wont work, it was a eddie marine one, the one with the braided line going to the stainless cap. The wingplate is already drilled for the drive shower fitting to thread into the top so i have the thought to make my own shower with some an- fittings… anyone ever tried that? or does anyone have any other ways they have done this?

Livorsi makes on for you application. I think you can make your own, if you can fabricate the fitting for the cavitation plate. I don't even run showers anymore.

rex marine sells a clam shell pick up tih -10 firring for 50 bucks, i had to email to get it seperate but then i just need some -10 fittings and i already have some -10 hose. with -10s that would get allot of water up there.

can i ask why you stopped running drive showers?

I should have said I don't buy them anymore. I used them on the first two boats I had. I have them on my 370ss. But they were on it when I bought it. I didn't buy them for my Gladiator. I doubt they give you anymore drive life.

i think i would disagree, i think we can all agree that heat is not a good thing especially for long trips... i have had allot of bravo drives and i have ran both with and without and the ones without the paint discolors from heat, ones with a shower dont. the way i look at it is for a small amount of cash its cheap insurance. the concept makes sense

Alot of people agree with you. They do keep yours drives cleaner. I just don't believe they help with gear life.
