Default Bolster base and rail finishes

My bolster bases and rails are beginning to show some age. Chips and scratches mainly. What finish would you suggest (powdercoating, painting, etc.) and what are the advantages / disadvantages? The bolster bases are red and the rails white. Thanks in advance for any advice.

i powdercoated mine. i know one of the disadvantages of pc is when it gets a chip, it then opens the door for the rest to start flaking off. I wasnt worried about that for my bases, but a trim piece i did for the opening to berth already has chip after one summer.

Thanks for the info.

Found a reputable powder coat company in the area.

Going that route.
