Hey guys anyone running vegetable oil in car,truck or boat? Is it worth it? Is it a lot of work? Are you saving any money by doing this? Is it a payne in the cold weather? I was wondering if it would be worth it to run this in a diesel powered boat. Are there some goods sights to research this?
Thanks

You need old technology diesels to run that mix in. Don't try it on a TDI VW/Audi or any of the new clean diesels. So if the boat is an old Detroit Diesel it should be fine but I suspect the mold/plant life that tends to grow in boat tanks might be a bigger issue with veggie fuels.

My boat runs on water. It is awesome!
J.K. +1 above. gonna need an older diesel. like a old school one with nozzles and an injector pump. (older cummins???) I have a 1990 ford E-Series and it has the 7.3 IDI in it. I pour used oil and trans fluid in the fuel tank it runs fine. mostly come across the trans fluid due to its detergent levels and its thinner. i have poured used 5w-20 in it during the summer. but the oil and stuff is actually good for that fuel system. I have poured lots of trans fluid in my 6.0 before. but i would not go too far. i still add it just for lube sake. as far as veggie oil again here, would not put it anything ford after 1993. and we are talking straight veggie oil here right. not the bio/methanol cut right?

I run heavily filtered used trans fluid in my 7.3 all the time & other than some minor idle issues I have no complaints. Veggie oil has a few problems that other fuels don't have. Veggie oil tends to congeal in colder temps causing a fuel restriction. you need a system that starts on diesel & switches to veggie oil after the fuel is warm & then switches back to diesel before shut down. I wouldn't try it on any newer diesel engine unless you have deep pockets.

You can run WVO in a common rail engine, you just have to have the right system to make it work;
