Default garage Door Height?

Would a 9ft Tall garage door be large enough for a 35 Outlaw on a trailer? Current boat is about 7 1/2 ft tall but the plans are a 35.. (hopefully sooner rather than later)

Tx

I'd shoot for 10' if I was you. 35OL should have 16" wheels and tires to handle the weight it would be close at 9'

You'll need between 9.5 to 10 feet high opening depending on trailer brand.

My 33 clears the 10' door by about 9". But trailer brand will have some effect on the height.

Not if it's on a Heritage trailer with 16" rims. Quite a bit taller than a 33.

Are you building a garage and considering door heights??? I've just pulled the trigger on a garage (should break ground in a week or 2). Putting in (2) 12 wide by 14 tall doors. I want to make sure I can store anything I can tow home!!!!

Wish I had your Space!!!!!

Planning on it if I can get approval from city. We were planning on either trading in for a 35 this yr or building a garage. I'm little nervous with locking into a long loan for the boat so we were leaning towards garage.

My issue is roof height of my ranch house. I was planning on adding a 15ft x 44 ft stall next to my current 24 x 24 garage.

Doing a 10ft tall door could be a major challenge............

Thanks guys for your responses! I'm gonna keep playing with it.

We recently built a new home and gained substantially more room by running the door tracks all the way to the ceiling before making the 90 degree bend. Then we used side mount garage door openers instead of center mounts.

We have easily gained 3 feet more of clearance. to the ceiling, plus it has made the door opening more flexible.
