I'm planning on having a boat house built later this year and I'm in the process of comparing boat lifts. I'm planning on lifting a Fountain 38EC. Water is brackish. So far the companies I've looked at are: Hi-Tide, Tide-Tammer, and Boat Lift U.S., and I'm leaning towards Hi-Tide mainly because of the longer warranty. But I have zero experience with lifts so I'd be interested in hearing any good or bad experiences any of you have had with your lift.

I think you may be in the right direction. I would stay away for a sling with straps that hoists your boat in the air. They can warp the boat. I have seen a 38 foot Scarab that was warped in the top/front of the boat because it was suspened with straps. It looked like a bubble and it was uneven. As long as the lift has support like it was sitting on a boat trailer, you should be OK.

I use to sell and install Hi Tide Lifts. You will be the happiest with them. The only thing I would recomend is that when you buld the boat house put seperate pilings in for the lift. They do have boat house brackets but I do not think the provide the support that a piling does. The lifts are quite, fast and have a better look. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know.

I like these, that way when the boat is up , you can walk around it and clean it or work on it. inside a boat house you would basically have a floor that raises.
