quick question for anybody that might know....I'm looking at a powerquest raizor...the boat has no hour meter...but the boat does have mercruiser fuel injection...if I hook a scan tool up to it would I be able to get the engine hours off that?....and if I can do that...is there a special scan tool for mercruiser or will any automotive one work? thanks in advance....

Scanning the ECM will tell you the hours and how many hours at various rpm. You need a Merc scan tool.

thanks for the help guys...guess the next thing is to find a mercruiser scan tool....anybody is s.e. Michigan have one they might consider renting out for a day?...

See if the owner of the boat will allow you to haul it to any nearby marina or marine service facility and have them do a scan for you.
