Default Gelcoat

I was wondering if anyone knows a source for getting gelcoat color matched in small quantities, like a pint. I called Spectrum and they said there minimum quantity for a color match is 1 gallon. The boat is a red 2000 Baja. Thanks

Try Minicraft. They are in Florida. Good luck.

May try Spectrum again, I've always used them for color matched gel and always get it by the quart. Never asked about a pint though.

You can get a quart and ask them to keep the rest. Saves on shipping as for mini craft. Only last resort there.

Well I've checked with both Mini-craft and Spectrum and both can color match to a piece of gel coated glass that I cut out for a speaker installation. Mini-craft has a mininum of one quart and Spectrum requires a 1 gal. min.. Spectrum does have quarts in the original Baja red, but I'm not sure how well it will match because of the age of the boat. Its a 2000 and while its looks great I'm sure the color has changed over the years. So I'm not sure which route I'll take, but I think Mini-craft might be a better choice because of the color matching.

Are you spraying or doing small nick/gouge repairs? If you are spraying just get white and have a local shop tint it for you. Depending on the boat's age the local match will probably be closer in color.
