looking for anyone with feedback on reliability of these drives on a Spectre 36 . Power is twin MDG 650s.. I have heard different stories but need more info before purchasing the boat. Thanks for any info!!

I have gone to SCX drives from Teague platinum drives done by Mr. Gadgets because I have really increased HP. My 34 DCB is a heavier boat and I ran 5 years with the original 575hp. Teague motors without issues at all. This is with using 5 blade props. In my opinion they will last reasonably well with the power you have if you drive appropriately. Expect that you will need to maintain them at a higher level. Frequent oil changes with inspection for metal. Tear down and inspect if you see anything.
Now with the SCX there is a good option if you want to upgrade without a rerig. Nice looking boat. Good luck, go for a test drive first.

If Dave at MDG did the engines and the rigging he would be the one to talk to. He will tell you straight up what to expect. call him and ask, he is one of good ones...honest and reliable.
