Default reversion questions with a 741 cam

I am going to be using standard Stainless Marine risers on HP 500's with Crane 741 cams.If I extend the inner tubes by welding about 4-5 inches of stainless tube to them will I eliminate any issues I might have with reverison..

I used the same cam with stainless marine exhaust on a pair of 502's. For safety sake we added to the outer and inner tubes and never had any problems.

HP465. Ran with both a blower and nonblown, 741 cam, Merc/Gil exhaust with silent choice. No reversion issues.

Default Fixx

but it was installed @.109

would be my concern.. is this the number it was installed at with a degree wheel or ? crane/merc will advertise 109* + a 5* advance built in to the cam which will equal *114

if you saw 109* i would put it at 114* to be sure it wont revert..

I am unsure if it was set with a degree wheel or what ..I am buying these from another OSO member and he had the top ends upgraded with these cams and Brodix heads .I will get with him and find out for sure...They are comming with the Gil/Merc manifolds and risers but I was gonna use the stainless marines I had...which do you guys think is better?

The 741 cam is a 112 lob sep.
It was probably advanced 2* and installed at a 109 intake centerline.

The SM's are better exhaust. As long as they have the long risers and the water mixes at the end, I don't think you will have reversion issues.

The cam specs you have listed are very similar to the cam that Bob M built for me. Last year I was running standard stainless marine risers and never had any reversion issues. My cam is 112 lobe seperation and dergreed at 0.
