Finally narrowed it down, what you do you think

Finally after a lot of research and asking around I narrowed down the oil and filters. I know the Merc book I have said use 40W and a merc dealer I talked to said use nothing but 25-40. To me oil is like aholes everybodyb has one. Anyways this is what I have come down to. Ive had boats before but not hi peformance and wanted to do the right thing. I was looking at overall value for protection.
I am going with 15-40 Shell rotella diesel oil. From what ive seen and heard you can put in gas engines and people have used in 454's with great success. I also figure if you can put it in tractors, HD trucks, etc it should be good for the boat.
Last thin is oil filters only thing available locally is Sierra filters at west marine or Fram. Dont know which way to go.

There is a thread on here with the performance of each oil filter. I think it also shows a picture of each oil filter cut open showing the construction. I know they test the flow rates and filter material.

Don't buy Fram filters, they're junk. At the very least get a Purolator filter. Wix, K&N, and Nappa Gold are slightly better, but more money and harder to find. Purolators are everywhere...
I've never heard that Nappa gold are Wix, but they are what I run. Mainly, because there is a Nappa store right down the street, and they're AWESOME at cross referencing Merc part #'s with GM #'s, and generally have some knowledge as to whether or not the automotive counterpart is any different at all, and if the difference will effect me (vs someone that boats in salt water).
