Default Coosa Board question

If I replace my dashboard with "Coosa" board, can this be painted? Or should I cover with one layer of glass, and than paint?? Any suggestions how to finish for a nice smooth look?
As always, Thanks for your responses!

Coosa must be laminated, it is a composite core not a stand alone panel. I usually bag it on a layout table with a white gelled face and a piece of 1808 on both sides. How big a piece do you need and is it completely flat? What thickness and will it be screwed in or finished?
