Default Quick question on behalf of new Baja owner

A buddy just got his first boat.

Brand new 30 Baja....496s ...what props would all of you use?. Has 32 X 15 on it when delivered. Would everyone here just leave that alone ?

Can someone give an estimate of speed ??

Its below freezing here so I'm not taking his calls to go to the ramp.

Thanks

So lets get this straight, the boat isn't even been ran yet, you know nothing of the RPM's, drive height, labbed prop etc, and you want all of us to take out our magic wand and figure it out?

With all your years of vast boating knowledge that you are so readily wanting to inform everyone of, You MUST have the ratios canned in somewhere?

Drop it in the water, run it and let us know from there, we can help much better then. BTW I am guessing right at 80

Now who is stirring the pot?

It was run at Fountain but staff changes leaving to go to RF leaves no current info and drive ratios arent available.

I have no knowledge of this size weight power of a V bottom.

Thanks for the guess though.

Its Easter, I'll put your tone down as not finding any eggs.

no actually it was pure sarcasm... Might as well say it like it is. Just thought you may enjoy a little reverse banter.

On a side note, are you the previous owner of Catastrophe, that was sold through the dealer in Canada?

Was owned by others after me before it ended up where it is now. Didnt follow it closely after I traded it, but do know I wasnt last user pre midwest.

I had it built though and was first owner.

Are they 496 Mags or 496HOs? I have a couple friends that have 30 Outlaws with Mags. I can find out what they came with.

Unless they put 1:65 drives on it ( which fountain has been
known to do) they're too big.

HO's should run at or around 80
