Serial number location for Merc bobtail?

Serial number location for Merc bobtail?

Serial number isn't on the engine cover in the usual location. Is there another place I can look? It's a 350MAG MPI, will ECU have a unique number?

look right above the starter bolt ,should be riveted on block flange
