Just got done fixing some blisters on the bottom of my boat. They were caused by the boat sitting on the wet trailer bunks. I went over the areas of the hull where it sits on the trailer bunks with 3 coats of West Systems epoxy to create a moisture barrier. I also did the bottom 1 foot of the hull on each side from front to back. West systems recommends putting some type of paint over their epoxy to protect it from uv rays. My boat is always stored on a trailer in my barn. My question is can I skip painting over the epoxy since the boat doesnt get alot of direct sunlight or is the epoxy really that sensitive to uv rays

which west systems?

If you used 105 and 207, you should be good without paint.. did you add some 422??

I used the 105 and 205 hardener because the temps at night are still getting into the 40 s And I needed to use the cold weather hardener. I added some white pigment from west systems to try and match my hull. Didnt use any other additives

Talked to the tech at west systems said it should be fine. Almost done wet sanding and wheeling, turning out real nice. Hopefully get the boat back on the trailer today

tyhe worst you should get is a little yellowing over time if its in direct sunlight alot. We use 207 in the winter..karosene heater in the garage and use halogen work lights pointed at it for extra heat.
