Default Ft. Lauderdale to Swansboro NC in a 38 Fountain

We left Ft. Lauderdale Saturday at 6 am. The ocean was rough so we ran the ICW to St. Augustine. We left St. Augustine on Sunday around 7am and ran the ICW to just pass Jacksonville. We were tracking to Myrtle Beach for a 2:00 eta but the ocean got pretty nasty so we came in Charleston instead and ran the ditch to Myrtle Beach. We stayed in Myrtle and left Monday am at 8:30 after getting gas. We were in Swansboro by noon. Ran 855 miles and burnt 800 gallons in a 38 Fountain TE with trip 300 Verados. The boat and engines ran great and we had a blast. It was a trip of a lifetime.

i thought those boats were better on fuel than that, was it due to the rough seas? what was your average speed?

Cool trip, the Swansboro inlet can be very interesting..... At least it was for me last summer when I spent the year working @ Camp Lejune, and had my Hydrostream up there.

Sounds like a lot of the run was on the inside.

We were in my buddy's boat and it did have trips. We averaged between 45-50 mph. The Ocean was very rough. Swansboro inlet is very tricky.
