Default Engine Space

Just learned that my 6.2/377 motor needs to be re-built---It sits in a 25' Outlaw....If anyone that has the 25' Outlaw with the 496 or bigger motor in same...Will you please measure the back of the rear seat to the furthest part the the motor extending out...Probably the pulleys holding the belt...If I can go a lil bigger rather than re-build what I have...NOW is the time and if the other 25's have bigger motors, there must be enough room......When I read on stats though them seem to list the 6.2 as 32 inches long,,,,,,the 496/502 39 inches long-----that won't fit.....Any measurements will be appreciated...
Thanks-----Mike Tampa Bay

It'll fit. They don't build a different boat configuration for motors.
A 25 Outlaw with a 5.7 is the same setup as one with a 525EFI.
You'll find very few differences, most notably the exhaust port spacing through the transom.

Hmmmn Thanks, I guess they would probably all fit,,,,but I do all my own work and each year just to change the water intake impellor kills me.....I just have enough room to get upside down, and take her out between the motor and the back seat-----So to go 5-8 more mph and no room,Ill stick with my small block engine and have her rebuilt----So I hope someone will send me some measurements!!!!!!
Thanks-----Mike Tampa Bay

The engine is currently out of mine but my 496 HO fits with no issues. I might have a picture or two to send.

Take the back seat rest out to work on it. I learned that 2 years into owning my 29. It comes out with ease once the bolts are gone. As often as I had to take mine out I never put the bolts back in and that was 4 years ago.

haha! AGREED! Mine haven't been in the seat in over a year. Just remember, if the motor doesn't fit- get a bigger hammer, it'll go.

I though the same thing. I'm just talking about the backrest portion of the seat, not the entire thing.
