Default 2008 Ford F-250 Priced Right?

Hello All,

Still looking for a clean late model diesel truck and came across a 2008 F-250 XLT 4x4 supercab/shortbed/SRW with 12,000 miles for $29k. Truck has clean carfax and seems as clean as it should with the mileage. Miles are low enough and enough factory warranty to minimize the 6.4 risks.

Does $29k seem like a good price- KBB shows 30-32 for trade-in value just not sure how close the Kelly #'s are. I'd prefer a newer 2500HD crew cab or F250 Lariat crew cab but that's not in the budget for another year or two.

Thanks in advance for thoughts from the truck guys,
Rick

That seems cheap to me. I know I couldn't find anything with that low of mileage for anywhere close to that amount. Most I have seen are 75k+ and still more money.

Well first off the 6.4 doesnt have issues specially compared to the 6.0. I had a 6.0 2007 and traded for a 2008 F250 XLT last year. 6.4 has more power. I got my 2008 F250 XLT last year with 14,000mi on it for 30. So its a good price.

Used diesels are in high demand usually, but these days with the price of diesel im sure you could bargain a littl more.

Sounds like a deal to me. Supercabs are usually a few grand cheaper with most people prefering the crew cab. I've had both and the crew is so much bigger.

I would try to find out how a 3 year old truck comes to have only 12,000 miles. My experience is the dealer will not give you the previous owner's phone number. If you know a reputable diesel mechanic take it to him. Don't trust the stealership to tell you the truth.

Bought the F-250 this afternoon- the truck doesn't have all of the features I wanted but it's super clean, low miles, and the price was right. Asking price was $29,997 and I ended up trading a 2010 SS Camaro for the truck and couple tanks worth of cash.

Thanks for the help guys,
Rick

Cat- Per CarFax the truck's first owner only put 90 miles on it in the first two years. Carfax doesn't show anything so I'll try to get someone to run the VIN through Ford's system to see what was done..

90 miles in two years you have to wonder if maybe he got sick or lost his job...
