Default Sea Tow or Boat US???

Wondering who you guys in the area use? Any good or bad experiences with either company? I've never signed up but was thinking about it this year......

I have used BoatUS the last two years out of Norwalk, CT. I have needed a tow each of the last two years(faulty sea strainer led to a blown water pump impeller 2 years ago and a clip broke, which led to water coming into the bilge instead of into the water pump last year). Both times Boat US responded right away and got me to port. They send you what the bill would have been if you were not a member. I think it was $350-$400 each time. Paying the $175 in the pre-season is definitely worth it IMO. Even if you don't use it, the piece of mind is nice.

Boat US....you can even get the trailer assist option which is not much more expensive. I would just double check to make sure they have coverage in your area.

In my brother's example above, the first year that he lost his strainer I was a member (and he wasn't), but they still didn't charge (even thought it wasn't my boat). Good service to have if you get in a jam.

Thanks for your reply. I was actually interested in what a few more of the CT crew thought.
