Default Gaffrig Mechanical Indicator

I have a "95" Avenger with a Gaffrig Mechanical Indicator for both drives & tabs. The red dot is no longer on 2 of 4 indicators. Does anyone know how the 2 part cover comes apart? There are two screws on the outside near the front of the unit. I took screw one out and the back plate swiveled in towards the gauge, but it didn't seem to loosen the covers up. Are the 2 part covers secured from underneath? Do they have to be pryed apart? HELP...... I sent an e-mail to Gaffrig with no response to date.

been there done that, its a pain in the a$$

you will need to remove the shifter, also the horn on the outside, lay some towels in there so if you drop the springs and red indicators you hopefully catch them, there are 2 sets of 4 -5/16 nuts 1/2" head on the under side, you will need to slowly remove them, you need to take complete assembly apart to get to them.

when you go to install assembly, slowly line everything up and have someone with a long screw driver go thrue the horn opening and hold it in place while you tighten the bolts.

Good luck, its a job you only want to do once.

Actually they are Livorsi indicators but back in 95 Livorsi and Gaffrig shared the same name.

Can I assume that you can't go in thru the dashboard assembly that holds the engine gauges & tachometer? If that doesn't work - one question on your instructions. IF you can get at the 5/16 nuts and take them off, do the covers on top come off, so that the pointers are exposed? I was going to paint them with some orange nail polish - your thoughts?

I did my buddys 380 which is a 2002 and you could not get to it from the instrument panel or the switch panel..

its a two part system, the first set of 5/16 nuts hold the tray with cables ,springs and pointers, once you remove that then you have another set of 5/16 nuts that hold the plexiglass cover
