I've noticed the poor seem to get richer during recessions... or at least seem to have ZERO ambition to get back to work

well in a recession if your poor, welfare, stamps, etc. just doesnt change. If your rich you might loose out on a few bills here and there, but nothing that your going to lose sleep over
