Has anyone ever been up to Higgins or Houghton for Memorial Day? And/or is anyone planning on going up this year? I think I'm headed up there next weekend, and wondering what it's going to be like.

I would pick Higgins over Houghton. Houghton is fairly shallow in alot of spots. I wasn't impressed.

Higgins is a way nicer lake water wise, deeper and cleaner. Gonna be cold though given this lack of spring. Not sure if it will be crowded/busy or not, if its nice out it may be.

ID NEVER put my boat in houghton. I got a place on the north end of higgins but I don't think ill be going there this weekend. More than likely going a bit further to torch. Should still be a decent crowd on higgins tho this weekend id say...

I will be there all weekend....should be a lot of people but the water temp will be a touch cold. South State Park is where all the action will be.
