hello. I hit the water for the 1st time this year yesterday and I noticed that my oil pressure when going over 40 mph is right at the top of the guage..around 80. When i'm full balls out throttle, around 58 mph, it was running around 75. When going slower it drops down between 40-60. I can't remember from last year what the oil pressure was when i was running. Is 80 too high? Nothing is leaking and no bad noises are coming from the engine. I have no reason to believe the guage is wrong, as the boat only has 35 hours on it. Thanks.

I believe i put in 25w 40 or 20W 50. I can't remember. It was what was suggested in the owners manual. It has a brand new mercruiser oil filter that i put in in the fall during winterization. So is 80 psi too much? Should i be worried? thanks.

ok, i put a mechanical guage on it. It's running at about 40 psi at 2500 rpm. Still running 75-80 at 4500-5000 rpm. No leaks, no noises. Oil filter is new, oil level is fine. ??? Should i be worrying about this, or no? thanks.

hot. Today i ran it in the drive way at idle for about 10 min before giving it any gas. The other day i was driving slow around the lake for almost 1 hour before i went fast. The psi at max speed after an hour of putting around was between 75-80.
