Default Trim Tab Problems

I have a pair of Eddie Marine tabs. I ran the boat first time this year last weekend with no problem when I had the tabs down. They would match up even on the indicator.

I took the boat out Saturday and again yesterday and when I would put the tabs down to start the Boat would lean to one side and the tabs on the indicator would not match up when I put them down so I would raise the other tab on the indicator to be even with the other and the boat would lean the other way.

So yesterday same thing, but now when I raise the tabs when I put the boat back on the trailer the one side of the indicator pegs at the very top and the other stay about 1 to 1.5 down.

So my question is what causes this and how can I fix it. Thanks

Just went out and had a better look. It looks like one of the cylinders is leaking fluid down the tab. So I'm thinking mybe just by replacing the cylinders that it should take care of the problem.

If anyone has any input on this please chime in any help would be great. Thanks

I checked Eddie's and they have a replacement for about $250. To me the $250 for a replacement would be a quick fix vs. trying to rebuild it.

HAs anyone had the same problem? If so am I on point with what is going on?

Just called Eddie's this morning and asked if they do have a rebuild kit and they do. $30 bucks. Wasn't on the website.

Does anyone have any experience with a rebuild on a EddieMarine cylinder 500-77 or 500-78?
