Took it out sunday for the first time, got 65 at 3/4 throttle, still got jackplate, trim, and props to mess with.

Beware te 70 mph "side step". Make dam sure you're hanging on when it moves sideways on the prop and then digs back in.
My LoPro used to do it at 72. First time will scare the h e l l out of you.

Did you have a pad, a lot of people are trying to talk me into adding a pad. Not my boat, but I would hate to hurt anyone. Also would you suggest a 3-blade for a little more give, we are currently running a 24 offshore 4 blade, just cuz it was what we had that was close.

I spent most of Jr high in a blue one with a 135!

Steve,

Just yanked the 130 or 135 chrysler off of it, blew the lower, and it was cheaper to buy a used Merc, got the 200 complete with bobs hydraulic jack, and hynautic cylinder for $1400

Just be careful and wear your kill switch lanyard. That's a hell of a lot of motor for just 16' of hull.

They are great boats I am restoring a 14 footer complete with a Bob;s jack plate and a merc 40 hp for my daughter.
I will post pictures when I am done.
Just be careful at that speed .

I had one in '75, 150 H.P. Merc w/p.t. purple flake w/ silver stripe... scary ride if trimmed to high ! Boat weighed app. 775# if I remember right. Good luck with it. "HIGH LIFE"

Yup,

I made sure he bought the controls with the lanyard, I may add a second one for the passenger.

This one was a quicky paint job about a year ago, some quicky fiberglass work, and a ton of power
