Default Ilmor questions...

Been looking around at boats on the classifieds and have seen a couple with Ilmor 625's for sale that interest me. I remember reading on this site as well as on Ilmor's website that the engines are supposed to be rebuilt every 250 hours! Was wondering if this was ultra-conservative or if anyone out there has seen these motors run longer? Just want to get some experienced opinions concerning these engines so I can make a good decision when it comes time to upgrade. Thanks-

Do you mean valve train or full top end rebuild?

Nonsense.

These engines have incredible longevity.

There is a pair on the east coast approaching 600 hours with nothing but fluid changes.
