i am looking at a 24' obsession with a new 454 engine. 165 total hrs. guy wants 13,000 for it. looks to be in good shape by the pics. he said it cruises at 38-40 mph at 2800 rpm and top speed approx 75 at 5800. I have never heard of this brand before. i read somewhere that it was an old eliminator hull design or something. Any input would be great! thanks

No way is it running 75 or turning 5800.. Prob 4900 5000 and 59-61.

I was looking at one years ago before buying my Baja, it had very little deadrise/ a fairly flat bottom which is good for speed but will ride bad in rougher water, the guy claimed it went 70 plus with a 454mpi but I never got as far as driving it so I am not sure of the speed. What pitch prop/drive ratio does he have on it, that will tell you everything, Smitty
