When I hook up my Rinda scan tool and set it to the base timing mode the motor calls for 8 deg. timing do I set it to 8 deg on the balancer or do I set it to zero on the balancer? The timing tool shows 8 deg. when in base timing mode.

Unless you have an adjustable timing light then set it at 8 degrees in base timing mode.
