Default Go Pro Camera

Just bought a new Go Pro 1080 Hd camera. Any tips or recommendations on using it. Which camera resolution setting, backings( the solid case or the ones with the holes in it), or mounts do you use? Any problems with the suction cup I am a little worried about attaching it to the outside of the boat and losing the camera.

I have (Had) 4, the suction cup works well, as a bit of insurance we use zip ties, to the bow rail or cleat, etc.
you want to use the solid case, as it is water proof up to X amount of water depth. I have used the suction cup on Race Boats, motorcycles, Jeeps, they are awesome.
