Default What prop recomendation for 25ft outlaw baja 496 ho motor

I have a bravo 23 pitch 3 blade prop already and it runs about 64. With the 23 pitch 3 blade prop i cant trim much out of the water before the rev limiter starts beeping. Should i keep the 3 blade prop and change the pitch or go to a 4 balde prop? I would like a little more speed if possible.

If you want more speed, you can get a 25 Mirage+ labbed. In many cases, a 4 blade will be slower than a 3 blade. In cases where the prop sits high, a 4 blade can be faster, but that is most likely not the case on your Baja. You can try a Revolution 4 23", but I would think it would get you better mid range speed, but not more top end. A labbed Mirage+ 25" should put you around 67-68 if you are so close to the limiter. Call Bblades.

+1 on A.O.

If you can get out hole fine, go with 25 m + lab bed! If not 24 b1 for good cruise and all around!

The 25" Mirage+ is a 3 blade. You can contact Bblades 920-295-4435 or order it from Bam Marine, Mirage Plus P/N 13706A56 or the Mirage Plus Racing with standard lab finish P/N 13706L56 http://www.mercruiserparts.com/order_Mercury_props.asp

In case you want a labbed prop, I would call Brett at Bblades and talk to him about doing a Baja double cup instead of the standard lab finish.

Hey Keven

Two things I would say.

One. What prop do you have now?
Two. I would not get a prop re-pitched 2", no matter what prop. Normally you would say +/- 1". Things start to get strange when you do.

Get a Mirage+ 25" and get it right the first time, you'll be glad you did. You won't change the geometry too much, and risking weaking the material ect too much. when labbed. Even a stock Mirage+ is a good prop for the 25OL. If it works, don't fix it, so to speak. You'll most likely get the best result with a 25" labbed by Bblades, or just a standard lab.
