Garmin GPS TO GPS LIVORSI SPEEDO

before i run out and buy a gps for my boat. my livorsi gps speedo is into. If i get a garmin 740s gps unit, can i hook this up to my livorsi gps speedo? I would like to kill 2 birds with one stone if you know what i mean. thanks for the input and advise

The data cable should provide a NMEA data out feed which you can tie into your speedo. You just have to configure the GPS to send the signal to the gauge.
Check the documentation that comes with the unit to verify that it does provide a NMEA data output stream.

Prostock - check out boattronics.com he has good pricing and did a lot of installs around here. He's in SC now but heading up this week if you want it installed so you don't have to mess with it. If not he should at least be able to get you good pricing.
And yes, as stated above, it should work fine if it has the right output.
