k-plane location..

k-plane location..
I am going to put my k-planes on this weekend, and I was wondering..should I mount them like flat, horzintal to the bottom of the boat. OR should I mount them like running with the v of the bottom of the boat. I have seen them both ways..all factoy locations are with them running with the v of the boat. But others I have seen mounted flat...
