Default speed of a 26' checkmate

what kind of gps mph should a 26' checkmate persaudor with a 385 h.p 454 mag with a 23p marage plus be running + rpm. my friends boat runs 60 mph on gps at 4900 rpm. he was told the boat runs 65 mph on gps all day long. just want some imput of what other boatters have had with the same boat.

If he is lucky.......
23P prop @5000 RPMs - 12% slip = 64 MPH

65 is possible at 11% slip, it's not going to do that "all day long"

yeah thats the numbers that I came up with, thanks for your imput he is running around 13% slip. just wanted to here from other checkmate owners on what there getting with the same set up.

I own a Powerquest but its the same length, same motor and same prop....Im running 64 mph at 5100 RPM
