engine just died
#1
About an hour into my boating day the engine just shut off. Every attempt to restart her the same thing. Turn the key, she starts, runs for three second, shuts off.
The only thing that's been acting funny was the oil pressure gauge, since day it never seamed right. The first 13 hours she read 60-80psi. Friday was out and the gauge read 20-40psi. Today gauge read 20psi until right before she die, when the gauge when to 0psi. the gauge reads 0psi everytime and the engine shut off. I've checked the oil every time before stating out and dip stick read full. Currently have 18 hours on her and have not burned any oil.
Tomorrow I was scheduled to drop boat off at dealer for 20 hour service, hopefully it's nothing major and I'm back in the water in time for my Friday night run.

Well kick me in the a$$ and call me stupid!
The dealer called to tell me the "problem"! It appears that the wires for the gas and oil gauge were switched and the reason the engine died is due to lack of fuel. Oil gauge read 0psi (no fuel) and fuel gauge read 1/4 tank (Oil pressure).
