I have CMI headers on 500 EFI engines.
I noticed a drip at idle coming from where the clamp connects the header to the Tail pipe. There is NO sign of water in the engine oil, valve cover, steam or condensate anywhere. this is salt water however.

I am speaking from lots of experiance with CMI...

You have one of two things going on. 1. Header is leaking or 2. You exhaust pipe is leaking just behind where the exhaust and header are clamped together.

If the cracked pipe is far enough back then what you really have is an external leak - meaning its not making its way back into the motor. Pull the header and ck it, look at your plugs and exhaust valves for any sign of water. PM me if you need more help. Good luck

Had the same problem. It was exaust condensation. I made some gaskets out of high temp. rubber and that solved the promblem. The gaskets you get with the headers seem to get britle.
