My 2001 280 with 502MAG runs upper 60's, so with only a 454 MAG I say low 60's at best.

Where is the 280 you are looking at? Which one? I used to own one with that setup. Best I saw was 67 with just me on board and light load. Full of fuel and coolers and 6 adults I would run a 22p bravo prop instead of my 24p or it would struggle to plane. It would always run 60 or better even fully loaded. Great boat. We loved it. Can't beat the room in it for a 28 footer.

dra200832: PQ make great all around boats, the do EVERYTHING well, not the fastest, but fast enough, awesome in the rough but you don't need monster engine to power it through. The track real well and they take a pounding. Some boats are speedsters and nothing else, some are awesome in the rough but are heavy and slow. Depending your price range, these boats are hard to top for the price.
