Seven or eight years ago I was told the WP measured 12ft waves leaving the cove. Is this true?? In my 26Nova it's like hills, throttle up them and back off going down. Surely some has a good story leaving the cove on the way to the no wake that they seen or happen to them?

12 foot is hard to believe. Where did you see this stat? I could maybe see 8 foot swells here and there with a ton of chop. I've never had any problems leaving, did come across a mid size V bottom after it rolled once. Worst I've seen leaving PC was when a big storm rolled in and everybody left at once, didn't even slow up in the no wake! This lake is a monster washing machine for sure!! Good luck.

12 foot---no way !! One of those legend stories. The worst I have ever seen is when the shootout ended in 2007 or 2008. Easily 6-8 foot swells +washing machine waves. But no twelve footers.

Leaving the fireworks at Tan Tar a is bit of a rodeo. Seen a dock broke loose summer of 95 on the way back to the 17mm.
I've always wondered about if there was any truth to the measured swells...

8'- 12' you guy's are arguing semantics', I don't think I've ever seen 12's but the way some of the big cruiser's pull out when it's time to head to the bar it's definitely not something you want to get caught in with a smaller boat...
It was five or six year's ago when a 31' cruiser was swamped and went down bow first right at the entrance to the cove... A lady was down in the front berth and when it took on water from an open hatch on the deck, she was trapped as it went down...
Whether it was an 8' or 12' footer it was huge... We've been caught in a few of them and it reminds you of the movie perfect storm except you have a dozen other boats trying to take off right along side of you...

Never nothing like that leaving the PC, gets bad leaving some of the fireworks water displays and maybe a little hairy 6-8 fters leaving the shootout in soem spots, but those numbers are myths.
