Last stop on the Gulf Coast with my Shop Tours was Statement Powerboats.
Thanks to Nick for allowing me complete access to their facility.
This shop is where the magic happens .I had an opportunity to see what goes into building a STATEMENT POWERBOAT.
They have a beautiful new Vee Bottom fresh out of the paint booth and being rigged as well as many other hulls in production.
Photos to come at a later date...

STATEMENT! Marine`s 42 "Ultimate" On-Water Debut Makes a Statement!
Mon Apr 6, 2009 7:30am EDT
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--(Business Wire)--
Neither six-foot seas nor rough economic waters could hinder the on-water debut
of STATEMENT! Marine`s new 42 "Ultimate," the newest entry into the custom
high-performance V-bottom market. The boat was launched during the Poker Runs
America season opener in St. Petersburg, FL, the location of STATEMENT`s
manufacturing facility.
According to spokesman Gene Weeks, the gnarly water conditions during the recent
St. Petersburg event were perfect for showing off the new boat`s exclusive
design features. The 42 Ultimate exceeded all expectations; "We knew she was a
good boat, but we did not know she was THAT good," Weeks stated with pride.
Of 82 boats that left St. Petersburg marina, only eight boats and three of them
V-bottoms, were bold enough to take on the Gulf of Mexico and travel 20 miles to
the planned lunch stop. Most of the fleet turned back instead of challenging the
6-8-foot seas in the mouth of Tampa Bay.
"Hats off to Mark Spates, who designed the aerodynamic hull!" Weeks continued.
"The boat is far more efficient than it should be for its weight, and the
air-cushioned cockpit really works well." The entire helm and seating area of
the 42-foot powerboat rides on an exclusive patent pending shock absorbing
system; it mitigates the jarring impact typically experienced by V-bottom hulls
in rough seas.
Atypical of some maiden voyages, the fit, finish and rigging of the vessel held
up well. "When we pulled into port we had just two loose audio speaker covers -
otherwise we were in perfect shape and were very pleased!" Weeks added, "The
Mercury Racing 1075 SCi engines were strong and smooth and provided ideal
power."
Dozens of performance boaters experienced the 42 Ultimate first-hand in a series
of demo rides and, according to Weeks, the reaction was singular. "Everyone who
rode the boat had a one word reaction when they returned, `WOW!`" he said.
Weeks proudly described the boat`s performance, "At 137+ [mph], the boat is VERY
stable and requires almost no wheel input. At 125 [mph] with five people in the
boat, it was like driving a luxury car straight down an interstate at 100 [mph].
The boat is extremely friendly - not a hint of chine-walk or porpoising, and the
nose doesn`t dive when you chop the throttles," he said, itemizing maladies that
are the bane of most V-bottom performance boats.
Despite troubled waters in boat sales in what has been called the worst economic
down-turn in marine history, STATEMENT! Marine introduced two new vessels at the
2009 Miami International Boat Show in February, a 50-foot Catamaran and the 42
V-bottom. The company`s management team of Nick Buis, Todd Werner, Mark Spates
and Weeks believe that building approximately 4-6 boats annually will provide
for reasonable growth and profit. "This is a passion-driven organization," Weeks
explained. "The team is making decisions based on engineering and customer
satisfaction first, then marketing and sales. We want to do what`s best for the
customer, and so far that seems to be working!"

I have seen them around at a few events. I have also passed the factory several times and have wanted to check it out. I may do that soon. The twin turbine cat is awesome. I watched it in a poker run from my balcony last year.
