I have boated there about 6 times. Very clean lake. It's a Corps lake so no homes. Couple of marinas. It is pretty deep. Not a big party lake that I am aware of. We had fun though. So you pulled the trigger on the 280 huh. Did you have it inspected?

We used to boat there years and years ago. Good lake, lots of fishing boats, small runabouts and pontoon/tri-toon. As mentioned, no homes, one or two marinas. Watch out for tree stumps and some shallow spots. Beached a boat once....sucked. Good spot to take a family for skiing/tubing. Smooth water

In some areas it is shallow. You will see the stumps poking out of the water in some areas but shouldn't be a problem in middle of lake. I haven't been there in years so it may not be too bad. Do you or a friend have a jet ski?? Take a jet ski up one evening, check it out and decide if you want to haul the boat up for the day. Good luck.

It has been a number of years since I was on Mark Twain, but I remember it being shallow as well. I'm not sure if a 28 ft boat would be much fun there. Just wondering, why not take the boat to LOTO? 28 ft is plenty big enough even if you have little ones.

I was reading 70 to 80 feet of water in the main body of the lake. Shallows exist in every lake. Never ran into any problems there. Saw several larger performance boats when we went. Nothing like LOTO. It is a quoted lake but nice. We were tied up to a 36 Outlaw on our last trip there. Had fun. Check it out. If you don't like it you don't have to go back!

I've been there twice this year...I hv a 25 checkmate and it'
s plenty big enough for me....I don't like loto because it is work to constantly be driving over cruiser wakes and the washing machine effect on the lake in general...It's deep enough and I can cruise for 15-20 miles before i have to turn around and go the other direction...they have a couple of decent marinas you can park and get lunch at.like others said...try it...if you don't like it..don't go back...btw i would buy a map of the lake and study it before boating on it...it'll help you know where to go and where not to
