Boost is related to rpm. The higher the rpm the more boost. Your probably not getting the full 3 lbs. Either get a smaller prop or maybe the 5 lb pulley will do the trick.

Two miles per hour gain for each one pound of boost is not too far off. Rpm is a little low but more boost will raise that and be just about right. Make sure you have enough fuel pressure and are rich enough at top end.

I have a VERY similar setup. (It's almost scary) 454 .030 over B&M 250 , 950 Holley(single) , cam (close to 525SC specs), Lightning Headers , crossover , v-6 ignition module(allows more base timing), I'm only running 8:1 compression but I run 7lbs boost. This is in a Baja 265 Force. I run nearly identical speeds as you are.

The increase in boost may help some. I think you could definitely drop in prop size. That motor should turn 5200-5400 rpms(short WOT blasts) That's what I shoot for. I'd try a labbed 25 Mirage Plus or if you could get your hands on a plain Mirage 25(not a "Plus" , they have less cup). I haven't got my hands on one of these yet. I debating on labbing my Mirage Plus 25. I can turn a Mirage Plus 23 @ 5400 rpms and a Mirage Plus 25 @ 5000.

Keep tweaking , keep me posted,

Thanks

You need a 24" prop. Get the boost up to 5 lbs. Try only one carb around 850 cfm. Make sure secondaries are jetted rich.

I put a Whipple on my Outlaw and saw a gain of 11 mph but this is a more efficient blower that is also intercooled. I run an 825 carb.

Also get an ignition module that allows a total advance of 30 degrees. If you have a thunderbolt 5 ignition get a module from a mercruiser 525sc. It has total of 30 and has rev limit of 5300 rpm.

Dave

P.S. It takes alot of H.P. to get these Baja's going faster!!!!!

At 3 lbs boost you are lucky if you are making about 20 % more power. 385hp stock x 20%= 77hp, should be good for 5-7 mph gain. To go faster you'll nedd more power. More boost, intercooler. GEOO

Are you still running stock exhuast?? aftermarket will help a blower application much more than a stock motor!!

You should be turning at least 5000 rpms. I'd prop down and see if your boost comes up....Are you running a boost gauge and fuel press gauge??? If not get them!!! 5lbs should be OK for the Mag motor for the 'short bursts' of full throttle.

I would try the prop before you go to a smaller pulley.
