My bow ring was starting to pull through so I did some investigating..... wasn't very impressed with what i found. There is a block glassed in to the vee about a foot long that was rotted top to bottom.
I did some digging and cutting out, got all of the rotted wood out and am ready to replace it.
I am a complete newbie to this. My father has always done woodworking and glass work fore me and i've done all the mechanical repairs and welding/fab work. Unfortunately his health is pretty bad lately so i'm on my own for this. Any recomendations ? shouild i seal the block in with 5200 or similar then glass over it ? Thanks in advance

do not use 5200 under any glass. you should bed the wood in with a mixture of resin and West Systems 404 high density filler though. Cap that in with several layers of 1808 and you should be goos to go.
