ECM repair

Default ECM repair

Customer fried the ECM on his 600sci.Out of Merc warranty but still in Formulagard warranty. merc Racing siad they do not repair them,buy a new one @$1600.Warranty supervisor would not go along,said send it to Dustin Whipple for repair,and they would credit me $625 total for my labor and Dustin's work.Does this sound OK?Anyone done it? Customer wnats new parts but they won't budge.Thoughts?

I doubt that the ECM can be repaired. It can be recalibrated, but that does not sound like its the issue. I would call Dustin at Whipple and discuss it with him.

I've had several 600/700 pcms that got fried by faulty IAC motors. It's a hardware fault and cannot be repaired with a reflash that I am aware of.

Have 700 sci's lost the IAC driver in one. Call Dustin Whipple, they can reprogram ECU. Runs great now.
