Default 2 complete Gen 6 502 Motors - VERY Reasonable

2 complete GM Gen VI 502 motors. Bow tie siamese block with four bolt mains with GM aluminum intake, 1 piece rear main seal, 1053 steel Forged & Cross Drilled Crank, 4340 Forged Rods with 7/16” bolts, Rectangular Heads, forged pistons, and steel hydraulic roller camshafts, rectangular port heads with 2.19 intake valves, 1.88 exhaust valves and 118cc chamber which a 8.75 to compression ratio. Also includes 6 qt oil pan (Merc style) with windage tray.
Note: Gen VI motors do not have a mechanical fuel pump location in the block, must use electric or Merc sea water pump drive unit to drive a mechanical fuel pump. I have Mercury TB IV ignitions and Holley 850 carbs if you want a complete running package for $500 additional.
These engines have dyno time only, was going to be used in my Cig so I installed new Inconel exhaust valves and reassembled with Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) head gaskets. These will work beautifully with mild boosted applications such as with a turbo or blower.
Reduced to $4995 ea. (cause I need to sell them) - GMPP Crate Motors list at $6675 without the good parts!! (2) available. I don't think you will find a better price.
(Dynoed at Victory Engines at over 460HP and 559 ft/lbs)

Default Almost there.

Will be picking mine up shortly too. Can you tell me about changing the oil relief valves discussed all over this forum. Are these correct already? Thanks.... Brian

Yes, the oil pressure relief valves have already been replaced in both engines. Basically, the Gen 6 motors have a different oil bypass valve arrangement from the earlier MK IV style blocks. There are 2 valves inserted directly into the block in the oil filter pad. The stock bypass valve is set for a filter used in the pad location, however with a remote filter and oil cooler arrangement thats typical for marine engines, the valve is to wimpy and it could bypass oil under normal operating condition. This is NOT good, so the fix is to either use a small "freeze plug" to stop the possibility of bypassing the filter altogether, or to replace the valve with a higher pressure rating valve (using a stiffer spring). GM has valves for this purpose. I replaced the stock bypass valves with new GM high pressure bypass valves. The second bypass valve in the pad is used to control oil flow to the stock oil cooler gallery area of the block ( which is NOT to be used for a marine oil cooler!!) and can be left in place because you won't be using this oil gallery, or some people like to remove this valve altogether. I have left this valve in place, however. I hope this makes sense. There is plenty of information on this procedure in the OO user forums. If you want the part number of the high pressure valves, I have them back at the shop.
