Default 24 foot construction and rough water capability.

I am really wondering how the excaliburs stack up against some of the other 24 foot aronow designed boats. Cigarette, banana, superboat, pantera come to mind.

I am wondering about hull strength and the stringer strength and size.

I have heard from a few people that these boats tend to have stringer problems and i am wondering what truth there is in this?

How does the stringer size compare to the other brands?

Lastly how are these boats compared to the other brands in rough water capability?

Are there any key area's to be aware of when inspecting these hulls other than the obvious?

Seems like no one wants to answer your questions... I'd be interested in some of this info also as I have been looking at a few 24 late 70's - 1980 Excaliburs as of late.

from what i have heard the boat rides great on the pad above 70 and i dont notice any thing bad about it in the rough

Il prolly get shot for saying something like this but from comparing pics to what is in my boat the design (dont know about layup) is very similar to pantera with no engine compartment bulkhead and just stringers all the way up to the cabin bulkhead.

I will say one thing i dont like but is easily fixed, the four vents on the transom let alot of moisture in which is great for stuff like the solonoids/relays on the trim and tab pumps

Hey cat
I'd re post your original ? on pantera or sb page. They both get waaaay more traffic and there are some real 24` die hards.
