Default '95 MPI 454 idle

I have a 95 Outlaw 24 with a MPI 454(385HP) CMI headers and K&N air cleaner. The idle this weekend was acting funny but not everytime. It would idle at 1200 then drop down to normal when I put it in drive. Put it back in neutral it would idle normally. The next time it would idle up and wouldn't come back down till I shut it off. A couple times after idling down the idle would "hunt". What do you guys think? Dirty throttle body?

Check out the throttle wire. My steerboard engine has the same symtom. Somtimes the idle is way to high but when i jank the the thottle quickly it "releases" and goes down to normal.

Sorry bout my spelling (Swede...)

I have the same motor and had the same problem last month...A vacuum leak on the intake can cause a high idle too. Have you checked the torque on the 12 intake bolts? A ripped intake gasket can also cause a vacuum leak and high idle too.

Thanks for the responses! I will be checking it out tomorrow after work! I talked to a few today and I am going to look for a vacuum leak first.

so I think I found my problem...easy fix. There is no gasket between the throttle body and plenum. It had some type of sealant. Which leads me to think it was loosing vacuum at that point. Getting a gasket tomorrow.
