Coming back from LOTO this weekend somthing bizzare happened on our trailer. One of the bolts that holds the brake caliper to the bracket backed out causing the caliper to jamb against the wheel locking it solid and blowing the tire. Naturally this all happened in a torrential rain storm so I never saw heard or felt anything.
The trailer shop who does all my work, recommended that I carry an adapter and plug to cap off a brake line. Turns out this $4 spare part got us home. After pulling the wheel, we removed the caliper, plugged the brake line, secured it to the frame with wire ties, installed the spare and made it safely home with no issues.
If you don't carry one of these, do your self a favor and buy one to keep in your tool box.
