Weak valve spring symptoms?

What are some of the symptoms of a weak valve springs. Engine I'm working with is a 525EFI.

When in Doubt- Check it Out!!

If you are not sure of the valve springs real condition, don't take a chance of finding a damaging symptom. Remove the springs and measure their poundage at the installed height and open height and compare that to the spec on the spring new. If they are down more than 10 lbs closed and 20 lbs open, loose the springs and get some good ones like Isky tool room steel units or similar from a high quality spring manufacturer in a premium set. springs are way cheaper than engines! Do it once right! The stock springs Merc Racing uses in the HP525efi are not the greatest for life or reliability.
