Default 502 Stroked to 547 - Oil Cooler Suggestions

I have a 502 that has been stroked to a 547, the current Mercruiser oil cooler doesn't look sufficient, and my mechanic thinks that may have been part of the problem with the last blow up. Any suggestions?

This is what I currently have...

Teague has some very well priced oil coolers that will work. I bought a 3X18 from them for my stock 502 because I was going to bump it up to 500HP eventually. Hard part is finding were to put it, but there are a couple of people making the clamps that bolt on to the bell housing.

Yeah, I was told we should consider going with a larger one, and that in doing so it would require new plumbing...

If you have stock oiling system, remove it all NOW, block adapter, filter mount, lines, useless now...make sure you have a 30psi relief in the block, use a good block adapter, canton etc that used 1/2 fittings, a good 3"x18" cooler(eddie marine has a nice one, oil filter adapter, canton/moroso and #10 lines as short as you can get them....old stuff from merc is junk for anything above stock...

Get an oil temp gauge and don't ever let it go over 280.
